Vice City Recommends
While I have no affiliation with this feature, I would like to highlight one of Miami New Times’ Best Films of 2024 (selected by writers Doug Markowitz, Trae DeLellis, and myself) as having finally secured a local release: the Academy Award winning documentary No Other Land. It has no distributor, has not screened in South Florida while various pieces of anti-Palestinian propaganda have screened, and is finally screening here after months of waiting. O Cinema kicks off screenings on March 7th and I felt is was worth highlighting this bold programming choice in the face of various organizations censoring Palestinian art and punishing artists who speak up about it.
